Probably the biggest problem with stereotypes isn't the people doing the stereotyping, but the people within the stereotype believing it themselves and thus perpetuating it (and sort of, by default making it true).  Like when I found out I was part Latina, I shaved off my eyebrows and drew new ones on with a sharpie marker.  But how else am I ( Read more... )

- I got my first credit card today. This is maybe a big step in growing up. It's also possibly a big step in acquiring a whole shitload of debt. I guess we'll see.
